Official 2021 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

I’m saving a fortune with pubs being closed here in the UK. My favorite pub usually makes the top ten national rankings for real ale pubs. They always have at least 12 cask or keg ales on at any time.

Do it

I’ve done it a few times, you’re right it comes out great. My brewing partner moved, and he had a keg set up which was way better than bottling them like I did when on my own. The problem is just the barrier of getting up and going again being much higher than walking to my corner store and picking up whatever I feel like at the moment.

Right?! I’m all for experimenting with new flavors, ingredients, and styles of beer, but weirdness for its own sake isn’t always beneficial. I want my beer to taste like beer and to be priced accordingly. There’s value to the saying “wine tastes, beer budget.” I don have wine tastes, so don’t make ALL the craft beer into some weird grain-and-fruit amalgamation :joy:

I drink, on average, one six-pack a month. I like to drink beer seasonally, which I’m convinced provides nutrients that are needed that time of the year. Kudos on radically reducing your alcohol intake :+1:

I spent thousands this summer on craft beer. I bought a glass from every brewery visited this summer and probably gained 20 glasses in 4 states :joy:. Had it not been for covid I’d have done much worse.
Added about 8 cool growlers as well.

Take @kleinhound’s advice and turn that money into home brewing! I bet you could come up with some exceptional brews and develop a new hobby too.

Zero interest in that lol but I’d like to go take a class as a date nite idea. My woman loves craft beer more than anyone I know lol

I assume “growler” has a different meaning over there?

I sincerely hope so! Good old British idioms.

It’s a jug for us. What is it for you? I’m guessing poop

Nope, an anatomical part that belongs to the fairer sex only. (That might speak volumes of the vulgarity of British men or the standard of our womenfolk I’ll let you decide!)

Usually in a sentence like “show us your growler” !!

“Yeah? What size?”

“Three natural childbirths.”

I would put this in food porn, but I realized last night that I’ve been posting this exact same pic pretty much every year at this time since 2007. Holiday Detox phase, though I have the soup generally 3-4 times a year. I’m alone this week, so this is pretty much it for either lunch or dinner every day until it’s gone. I will end this atrocious reign of fluffiness!
