Exactly. Where outside of Europe or European descendants is there a democracy that wasn’t imposed? Japan, created by the USA. India, created by Britain. Most civilised places on earth were created by Europeans. To expect people whose mindset is stuck somewhere in the 7th century, who think that women are chattel, that religious differences mean the non-Muslim is an infidel, who have no potential WHATSOEVER for economic development, is to simply WISH for a nice outcome, a democracy. Never happen.

I think this is less of a muslim/religious/corrupt regime issue as it is an economic issue. Sure, the government was corrupt. But people could eat. In the last 3 years, the price of food in Egypt went up by almost 50%. Imagine your grocery bill going up 50%. Now imagine that you were already paying more than half of what you made to feed yourself.

Before, you lived in a shitty governed corrupt country etc, but you could still eat. Now you have nothing. Hence riots.

You can talk about politics and religious issues and the middle east all you want, but it’s not the problem. America is 14 trillion in debt. The federal reserve is printing so much money that they are essentially causing and export of inflation. This is why countries like Spain, Portugal, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Tunisia, and now Egypt are hitting economic collapse. It doesn’t matter who is governing the country, evil or good, democracy or not. Its the fact that the system of fractional reserve banking is no longer able to grow enough to outrun its own death. These “satellite” countries are just the start. The lower down you are on Maslows hierarchy of basic needs, the faster a collapse will come. We just have further to fall.

Meanwhile, China has 2-3 trillion in foreign reserves. Compare that with USA and their 14 trillion in debt. China basically owns Portugal now, because by bailing them out for a paulty few billion, their reserves went up in value by 10x that amount.

There is no real direct war anymore, there is only economic war.
