Combining Upper/Lower Days on 531

Hey guys, just getting my weak ass back in the gym lately, but with the holidays i’ve combined a lower body and upper body main lift into one day on a few ocassions and it got me thinking. Would you guys say i’m better off doing 2 main lifts a day, twice a week, and getting another 2 or 3 days of good conditioning work in, or run 4 days a week, one main lift a day and throw in some conditioning work after or with my assistance work?
