Interesting.

You do the exact opposite. Why should anyone waste their time arguing with you if that’s the case?

I stopped reading at this point.

You are all about double-standards! See your stomach turning nationalism-driven hypocrisy in the waterboarding thread.

I’m done here.

I though you were done when Rainjack schooled you. Please stay away your socialist drivel is stomach turning. so is your love for Islamic fascists.

Why did this turn into a religious thing? It seems to be a cultural thing.

I was in Kenya last year for a few weeks, and the culture can be very different from City to City and town to villiage.

From the video, and location, the people from that area of Kenya are mainly kikooyu tribes people, like the original Masai, so this is probably considered the norm in their culture.

Even 30 miles north in Kisumu, where my mum was born, there’s Christian churches and Hindu temples, but the majority of people still follow the Masai culture.

This thread went off topic and turned into a religious battle fast.

There is no true love or kindness without free will. We must have the choice of evil if the choice for good is to have any meaning. Etc.

Sorry for my role in enabling Lixy to hijack another thread with his . . . unique perspectives on life. I just felt it would not be proper to allow his comment to go unanswered. Must be my unfunny knee-jerk reaction to asinine comments . . . .

Thanks for bringing some real perspective and knowledgeable insight back into the thread. Firsthand knowledge is much appreciated.

There will definitely be reckoning . . . I want to be on the front row on that day.

I don’ wanna talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food-trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!

Your God sounds like a wuss. what kind of a God do you worship?

I meant that in the same humor you intended in your remark - please do not be offended. . . actually - be offended if you want. My God is coming back to judge one day and that day of reckoning will be an awesome, fearful day!

Why do evil things happen - if you really want that answer we can have that discussion - would love to, in fact.

Not sure whom you’re talking to - but yes, of course, as a Catholic I fully believe that there will be a reckoning at the end of the day. That’s the whole point and meaning of our having free will. A poster had asked why God doesn’t intervene, how come he “stands by and does nothing,” etc - and my answer stands; it’s also the orthodox answer: it is necessary for us to be able to choose evil in order for our choice for good to have any meaning at all.

Hey I’m not really the one projecting humanity on to God. All organized religion is bullshit. For some reason people refuse to believe morality could be hardwired into our DNA.

Oh but I forget, there HAS to be some defect. How else would the Church/Mosque/Synagogue/Temple keep control?

Sorry for the confusion, Katz- I was responding to to the other guy’s strange concept of a deity.

I agree with you 100%

I agree, I think that God would not have created us unless we were to have free will, or what is the point? If we are controlled we are just slaves. Or there is no point, look at it any way you like.

Some would like the government to control their existence from cradle to birth. Many of us recoil at that idea.
