Protein drink before early morning workout?

I get up at 4:30 a.m. and at he gym by 5:00 - 5:15 a.m. I have been thinking of drinking about 20 grams of Metabolic Drive before I got to the gym. Right now , I only have a cup of coffee. Is the 30-45 minutes enough time to allow the protein to properly digest or would it be best to train fasted? Thanks.

I would never advise to train fasted, except for fat loss cardio.

Your protein shake will be fine. You would probably find a solid performance increase if you had some carbs before training too.


I get up at 0410 to train as well.

I actually pre-make a Metabolic Drive shake before going to bed and drink it in the middle of the night when I wake up to pee. I then just get out of bed and train. It seems to work for me.
