Mercury Consumption Calculator

I came across this site while reading about mercury levels in fish.

It calculates your mercury exposure as a percentage of the EPA recommended weekly limit. Apparently it uses numbers from the FDA studies(http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~frf/sea-mehg.html). For my 180 lb body weight, it’s telling me that 7 cans of chunk light tuna(42 oz.) in a week will put me at 260% of the limit. Kind of scary if you believe hype. I think I’ll stick to sardines, shrimp and other creatures down lower on the food chain…
