Hack Squats

I just started to mix these up into my squat program…i was wondering what muscles it majorly hits…the quads? hammies? or glutes? thanx

Quads. I’ve tried them a few times but have trouble doing them. It feels very jerky and I often bump the bar into my hams on the way up. Feels like the straightening out of the body is seperate from the lifting the weight.

They always hurt my knees so I stick to back or front squats.

Sorry I could not be more helpful.

I love therm and mix them in frequently. They can really help to teachj you to stay vertical in your squat stance.

Yes they hit the quads more so than a regular DL but they hit all of your legs to an extent.

They will hit your hams something to get used to I suppose.

If they or any exercise causes Negative pain do as Zeb and dont do it.

Tried them Last week, too. I had the same problem for the first 2 sets.
Then I realized that you have to lean back a little when going up and then i had no more problems.
