Current status of Powerlifting?

Haven’t been following it for years… have a few questions.

  1. Are they still pushing for it as a Olympic sport?
  2. Is it still overstuffed with different feds and sub categories ?
  3. Are the leaders in the IPF still a bunch of pricks?

Lots of drama

  1. IPF suspended USAPL for not doing enough drug testing.
  2. USPA lost meet directors because of inappropriate conduct of officials.
  3. My area APF meet directors resigned because of (I don’t why).
  4. Minnesota USAPL was sued over the transgender thing.
  5. USAPL brought back the original weight classes so they might being giving up on the Olympic sport.

Heya,

Let me preface this by stating I am an old cranky guy, who sees NO reason for anything BUT raw powerlifting, without sumo this, sumo that, and all the general BS that makes modern powerlifting suck.

Lifters/judges who blatantly cheat, no conformity…screw it, this sport has been dead to me for some decades, it is what it is. Let’s go back to what old school powerlifting was, have the GOAT Ed Coen be the head dude. (IMO)

Rant over/

Take care.

Figured they would do some Raw.

Nah, they came back and did it right. It was cool, but a blip.

Hmmm… might need to take a look out of curiosity.
