I definitely got the competition bug though competing in strongman, so I am kind of anxious to do it again so I am willing to take just about anything that shows up nearby.

I’m probably going to end up doing the same thing. I still feel a bit unworthy because to me personally, my numbers are still crap.

For a 196lb 26 year old male I am not so hot myself with a 210 Bench, 315 Squat, and a 365 Deadlift but getting experience is important. When I went to my strongman contest I knew I would probably take last, but preparing for the competition pushed me really hard in my training. Then showing up on competition day knowing I would place last made it easier for me to just do my best and not worry about how I was doing in relation to other people. Next year it probably won’t be that way

Your numbers match mine pretty much to the T, except switch the deadlift with the squat lol. My first competition I just want to actually hit the numbers id be training for, and do my best not to let nerves make me have to knock off some pounds. I get insanely nervous even with 10 or less people in a room,

To me thats an even better reason to do a local, takes pressure off,.

Id like to sit in too. Maybe just watch a full meet and see how the atmosphere is.

Went for a token PR on my Deadlift as it’s the only ‘main’ lift I haven’t PR’d on lately, it even had the best training cycle so I don’t know what happened. Decided to just use my fractional plates to add a little over a kilo to the most I have Deadlifted for a token PR. Was a sick grinder too, broke the floor super easily but after that til my knees was a soul sucking grinder. I wanted the PR so fucking bad that I refused to give up. Once I got to my knees it was an explosive finish.

Curious about taking a couple warmups from deficit?

Just doing stuff, haven’t used deficits much lately so I am just working it into my warmups. Did some sumo stuff too, like my first set of 10 was sumo even though I pull 98% Conventional.
