Wow wasn’t expecting that. Opened up looking for a 500+ deadlift and what did I see…SQUAAAAATS. Nice work
Lol. I’ve made no secret that the deadlift is my favorite and the single lift I’ve chosen to keep answering the basic question: “am I getting stronger?”
But I do like to get at least one squat workout in per week, even if it’s a pretty light one. Of late I’ve also been making it a point not to grind on squats - even if that means keeping the weight pretty light.

This was a hell of a lift. Really pleased with it. Video coming.
Damn nice lift man!
Nice work. Your back doesn’t bother you doing that many deadlift days in a row?
Nope, totally fine. A couple of reasons why this is probably so:
-
total volume in all of my sessions tends to be pretty low. You can see that most sessions are only 6-8 total sets, taking about 15-20 minutes, and only three of those are at any sort of work weight. This was inspired by a program called Daily Dose Deadlift; I just have kinda run with it for several years now, and it seems to keep working well enough for my goals.
-
I rarely do a true “max” lift or ball-buster set. Even my new 1RM’s usually look like there may have been a little more in the tank. I’m doing this for the long haul. Admittedly, I’d have to take this a little differently if I was going to compete.

I’d like to start pulling over 600 on a regular basis to get accustomed to the heavier weights. Sort of like I built the strength & confidence to hit 600 by doing 545 a bunch of times until it was a weight that I knew was ALWAYS there, I’ll build confidence for 650-plus by making 615 an always-there weight. Of course, tonight’s pull at 615 was a bit of a grinder, so I’ve got some work to do!
Nice to see 600+ up again. Good of you to give the people what they want
