On a spreadsheet, 48/2(9+3) would certainly be 48 x 12 all over 2. A slash only indicates division of the 1 immediate term that follows. In other words, (9+3) is automatically understood as being all over 1.
On a spreadsheet you would need to do 48/(2*(9+3)) to keep the 9+3 on the bottom of the slash.
