I developed a serotonin problem after frying my brain with ecstasy. I took paxil for about a month and a half but had to get off it because it killed my appetite, sex drive and the ability to reach orgasm. I lost 10 pounds while I was on it which for me is not good. I just deal with the ups and downs and those panicky feelings. It’s hard but I think the side effects of the meds are worse. I still have trouble training because of my anxiety and don’t know what to do. I told my shrink I don’t want meds but I don’t know what to do.
First, quit worshiping satan…That might help. Second, if your theory of chemical imabalance due to to much ecstacy, you may not have a choice other than drugs. Therapy cannot fix physical brain damage. You may need a nice MRI or CT scan to determine if there is any physical damage to the brain. Then decide your course for treatment. If you have brain damage chances are that your brain can recover, but it generally takes years. In the mean time you may suffer from agonizing bouts of anxiety. The side effects from most SSRI’s disappear within two weeks. Each one is different, you got to find the one that suits you the best and stick with it. Once you do you’ll find you’ll feel much better and that is worth it. I never again want to feel like I felt before, I will do anything to prevent it.
Ten Man- sounds like your boy might have a problem similar to another kid I know. He was a math wizard as well, but was sickly and afraid of everything. I told his mom about my experience with eurythmy therapy and she took him first to an anthroposophic M.D. who diagnosed him with a developmental disorder, and prescribed him several specific eurythmy exercises that he learned from the eurythmist. Well, that was two years ago and he’s a different boy now completely. He even had allergies and athsma now they’re gone. I don’t know if the eurythmy made them go away, but I wouldn’t doubt it. He has gained weight and is now a completely normal boy. Completely normal for a genius. I just wanted to pass it on to you because I’ve seen complete transformations several times now with this therapy and I think I would be doing someone an injustice not to at least tell them about it. I don’t know if there is a curative eurythmist where you live, but if there is you might really want to look into it for your son.
For those of you with anxiety, you should check out Mercola’s EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) over at his website. You may feel a little dumb doing it the first time (consists of tapping and self affirmations) but, believe me, it works. You don’t need to buy the video unless you want further instruction. Everything is there for you to print out.
