I have tried ZMA and Melatonin. I prefer the ZMA, it gives me a sound restful sleep with no issues upon waking. I have always had vivid dreams and usually remember them, ZMA did not affect this at all, they were not more vivid, I didn’t dream about what I had just read or watched on tv like some have stated. I had no side effects at all aside from a deep restful sleep.
Ive never used it before, but are you supposed to take it on an empty stomach? If so, how long would you say your last meal has to be before your stomach is considered empty? 2hours or so? If I sleep around 11pm, shall I make my last meal around 9pm ish, with zma at around 10 - 10.30?
I’ve used a product with bacopa monieri (sp?) in it called REM and find it works very very well as a sleep aid. I just ran out a little while ago and now I find myslef waking up 2-3 times a night to piss, where as when I was on it I would wake up 1 time or not at all. I’ve used ZMA and find it helps to a degree plus I think it’s a good supplement all the way around as alot of athelets have zinc and magnesium deficiencies. I dont’ care for melatonin as it makes me groggy as hell in the a.m.
I like ZMA. Love the enhanced sleep and I seem to feel more refreshed on less sleep. I always have a spare bottle stashed in my vege crisper in the fridge.
I have always had vivid dreams off and on, with ZMA it seems to be almost every night. I was curious if I could take 2 caps instead of 3 and it is still very effective for deep sleep, 1 seemed like nothing.
I’m a large guy at 263lbs. I had a little bacne on my upper back before, I happened to see a good amount more on the trap area about a week after I started the supp. It hard to say if it made me stronger in my training, but think I see a slight gain in the weight room.
