I was wondering what the major training effects would be between the Poliquin cluster and the Miller extensive cluster?
Poliquin - 5 reps with a 3 RM weight with 20 sec rest b/t reps
Miller- 5-7 reps with 90% with 30-45 sec rest b/t reps
It has been submitted. I’m not in charge of selecting which articles run when. I have submitted 4 new articles this week… the cluster article, one on should you listen to steroid-using fitness experts for advice, one on TRT and one on the deadlift
I feel that the Poliquin cluster might be slightly better for hypertrophy whereas the Miller extensive (and intensive) clusters are a bit better for strength.
I also feel stronger individuals or people with a higher ratio of fast twitch fibers will respond much better to a Miller cluster. I’m trained some strong duded who couldn’t do more than 3 reps on a Poliquin cluster with their 3RM, which makes this method sub-optimal.
