You're A Strongman Camko (Back on my Bullsh*t)

Thanks dude, It was probably one of the most difficult programs ive followed in training thus far. Amazing that the whole thing and all the info was free, props to Anderson. Ive actually been getting body measurements since since I started the Intermediate Program. At the end of Week 1 I was 220lbs and 22% BF and at the end of Week 3 I was 213lbs and 20% BF. Im getting another measurement next week, Im hoping to be down another 2%.

You’re a goddamn maniac to lose weight on that program, haha. Dude, you are a bigger man than me, not just literally. You and @strongmanvinny2 are my heroes as far as being insane go.

Based on the body comp test, what I lost was all fat, which is what I was hoping for. I figured that doing this program, my body would not allow me to lose any muscle, for survival purposes haha.

Means alot coming from you man, I really appreciate it.

5x20,20,15,15,15(Bar+50lbs)

Notes

  • Going to be running this program for the next 4-5 weeks, as a lead up to my comp. Figured this would be the best way to accumulate some strength back while also being able to hit some high volume/reps, which is gonna be needed for the upcoming comp.

  • Gonna need to drop the training max for the strict press, was barely able to get the 5 reps of 155lbs. Oh well, makes sense that my strict press strength went down a bit.

It comes back fast. And then some, haha.

Praise be haha, looking forward to that.

Strongman 5/3/1

4.GHR
4x15(BW)

5.BB Rows
4x10(225lbs)

Notes

  • Fudged up a bit when doing deadlifts, did 85% of my 1RM instead of TM. Realized that as soon as I picked the weight up, so I just did the singles at 500lbs and dropped it down to the actual training weight for an AMRAP.
  • Speed training on the husafell, felt really good, maintained speed throughout the event. Worked up the 295lbs with consistency in footwork and speed, anything over that I felt would have been slower so I stopped there.

Notes

  • For the comp, there is a back squat for reps event @ 500lbs. Wraps are allowed so Im gonna start implementing them in training to get used to them and the technique. Definitely a different ball game.

How is ur knees feeling?

No issues, I was only wrapped up for that one set. Do you get knee pains when you wrap up or do wrapped squats?

Nah mostly just uncomfy if you wrap tight to get max carryover. Some wraps are comfier than others also

ohhh yeah, it was 100% uncomfortable as hell haha. One of the hardest parts for me was the unrack and the walk out. Felt super unsteady the whole time.

Which comp are you getting ready for?

There a local comp in mass that a bunch of the guys at my gym are doing, its a week after the connecticut one so I decided to just train for the one thats local since my gym is training for it. Its called clash of titans 2 in Stoneham,MA

Sweet deal. I haven’t really looked into any comps in that fed because I find the UI of their website detestable. A weird thing to be so nitpicky about.

Sounds like a brutal comp though, wouldn’t want to do that one at all haha.

Yeah with wraps it’s awkward to walk out. Practice i guess or maybe make your walkout real efficient like a two or three step walkout and stable

Notes

  • Dropped the training max for strict press, same weight/rep range as last week, felt smoother and more stable this week tho which is decent.
  • Added weights to the dips, felt good, probably add a little bit more next week.
  • Gonna stick with the BB Rows as the main back work for this day, will have the best carryover to everything else IMO

4b.PL Chest Supported Row
4x15(140lbs)

Notes

  • Deadlifts feeling alot better this week, no form breakdown. Could have gotten 1 or 2 more reps on the last set, stopped at 5.
  • Husafell also better this week, foot speed was about the same at 300lbs, but the pick from the ground was alot better.
