Your Weekly Grocery List and Bill?

What do you buy every week (or every regular interval of grocery shopping) and what’s your avg bill look like?

I am amazed at how little money some people are able to stretch…I can’t seem to do less than $60-80 a week with chicken breasts, peanut butter, fruit, eggs, vegetables, cheeses.

I spend between 100 - 120 euros each week. Thats about 15 dollars…quite a bit not including supp’s!

I buy a lot of my foods in bulk at BJs, or Costco clubs. I’ll usually buy Oatmeal, Cashews and Almonds, Frozen Chicken breasts (not the best, but convenient at work), large containers of chopped meat (which I then individually wrap as 1/2 lb patties in aluminum foil and store in my freezer), a big bag of brocolli, and sometimes I can even pick up some type of low carb protein bars. So when I run to the local grocery store each week, it’s usually only for eggs, cottage cheese, milk, stuff that you can’t keep for a month or more.

I’m spending about AUD$120 each week but I live in the inner-city and go to the local shops rather than head over to a Costco type place.

I don’t have a car so I have to carry my food home.

Supps not included - probably $20 a week for some protein powder and creatine every day.

About 60 dollars. Try to focus on cheaper foods.

Need to start buying in bulk.

I’ve yet to find the perfect grocery trip, but I’ve spent as much as 120, and as little as 30 on a two week period. I usually shop at places like Kroger or Meijer though.

I think Homer Simpsons summed up my weekly grocery list:

“Let me have one of those porno magazines, large box of condoms, a bottle of Old Harper, a couple of those panty shields, and some illegal fireworks, and one of those disposable enemas … eh, make it two.”

I spend about $120 USD every week for three adults.
Chicken breasts,
lean beef,
fish,
fresh and frozen veggies,
fresh and frozen fruits,
1/2 gal milk (for the wife),
cheese,
yogurt,
cottage cheese,
maybe oats (1 big can lasts a month for us),
maybe bread,
occasional purchases include EVOO, spices, etc.

Here’s mine – about $150 if I get 1 pound of beef tenderloin. Note this is for 2 people.

Shopping list
beef tenderloin
Ribeyes
chicken
coffee sweetener (choc – sugar free)
milk
eggs
egg whites
chicken sausage
cottage cheese

I spend about $30-40 a week at the grocery store mostly for fresh fruit and vegetables. $60-80 every two weeks at Costco for bulk items like Chicken Breats, Tuna, Eggs, Cottage Cheese, Frozen Vegetables and Berries, and use about $60-75 worth of Biotest supplements a month, mostly Metabolic Drive. So it comes out to about $350-$400 a month on food. I also get free meals at work, thank god.

2doz eggs
cheese
ham
wheat wraps
oatmeal
tuna
chicken
ground beef
spinach
turkey
carrots
cottage cheeze

= (roughly) $70 USD

supplement orders about every 3-4weeks

= $200 USD

i think you can make it as costly or uncostly as you want. Whole eggs, lean ground beef, tuna all inexpensive protein sources. Frozen veggies and fruits are not very expensive either. If you have more money vary the protein sources more adn eat fresh fruit and veggies. Thats the way ive always worked it. Plus i always pick up a bottle of flaxoil and fishoil and include that with my grocery bill

Great thread! I was actually going to post one just to see what everyone else does to stretch their grocery dollars. Here is my weekly grocery list:

6.5lbs frozen chicken breast $15
2.5-3lbs frozen fish:$15-$20(depends on fish)
3doz omega3 eggs:$5
2x3lb bags Broccoli:2x$5
3lb bag mixed veggies(broccoli,carrots, cauliflower:$5
1lb organic baby spinach leaves:$5
5lb shredded romaine lettuce:$4

Weekly costs:~$60

Monthly/quarterly purchases include:
huge bag of Walnuts
95% lean hamburger(eat <1lb/wk)
canned tunafish(only eat when I don’t have fresh fish)
5lb bag of apples(when I’m not focusing on low carbs)

Supps:

Low Carb MD: 12-15 scoops/wk
Surge: 12scoops/wk
Creatine: 5mg 4xwk PWO

Not sure about my occasional and supplement costs but it’s not cheap, especially PWO Surge 4x/wk. I’m poor so I don’t get much variety in my diet but it’s fairly reasonably for a weekly costs. Yes I eat 10+lbs of vegetables a week instead of having fruit in my diet.

I spend about $60 weekly on food. Consisting of:

95% ground beef
ground turkey
chicken breasts
tuna
salmon packets
spinach
frozen mixed veggies(green beans, peas, carrots, lima beans) and broccoli
frozen blueberries
frozen raspberries
yogurt
Carb Countdown Fat Free milk
cheese
whole wheat english muffins
ramen

Those are the staples and I might pick up some fresh fruit here or there if I so desire. And I should also mention I drop $20 on me cheat meal for the week. Usually consisting of chinese food and beer.

weekly list

30 eggs
1 XL sized bag of shredded cheese
7 large cans tuna
7 large cans chicken
1 bottle mustard
1 bottle franks red hot sauce
All the discount red meat they have
pepperoni slices
all natural PB
Butter
2 bags of Turkey hotdogs

50 bucks

Love my ghetto IGA

1 Dozen Omega 3 Eggs
3 Bananas
1 Box Lucky Charms
3 Sweet Potatoes
3 16oz Liquid Egg Whites
1 Jar Natural PB
2 Organic Ketchups
2lbs of chicken
2lbs lean ground turkey
2lbs lean ground beef
Various fresh veggies: Zuchini, Onion, Squash, Broccoli, Lettuce
2 Bags Organic Unsalted Mixed Nuts

$75

BTW, you might have noticed the complete lack of fruits and veggies up there, I’m taking a Superfood supplement, but i know that it doesnt quite make up for the real thing, but in all honesty.

Its college, and im kinda broke right now, when ive got more money, there will be more green veggies in the diet during the week, and I do always make sure to get a ton of fruit in on the weekend for my carb up day.

Jeez, I feel like i’m wasting money somehow. My usual bill is around $120US for just myself. Consisting of:
Bananas
Eggs
Whole wheat bread
Turkey
Frozen berries
apples
Peanut butter
Honey
Salmon
Chicken breasts
Steak
Brocolli
Carrots
Cauliflower
Olive oil
Green tea
Sun dried tomatoes

Some of those things aren’t every week, like the olive oil, but damn, for some reason I seem to spend a lot more than the other posters so far. Plus the 200-250/month on supplements.
