when it has to be forced on others. At least that appears to be the lesson New York state senator Andrew Lanza is trying to teach children. Kids come up with ideas for new state laws - silive.com

It would be great if one of those kids said “There ought to be a law that the government (Federal and state), must have a balanced budget every year.”

I second this question. Why would that be great? The government can easily balance its budget, by simply taking more from taxpayers.

If a kid said something like, “There ought to be a law that the government must reduce its budget every year until it’s spending only on military/police/courts, and as little as possible on those services,” then that would be pretty great.
