Yogurt - High or Low GI Carb?

Forgive me for not knowing this, but is yogurt considered a hi or low GI carb?

Thanks!

That’s a little subjective. I would think plain yogurt would be low ~40, but as soon as you start adding sugar, fruit, and flavorings you push it into a higher GI category. This is where the GI fails- when you start combining foods.

What’s your concern, i.e. why does it matter to you?

Low GI, high insulinic index. I’m pretty sure most dairy is that way. Dairy doesn’t raise blood sugar sharply but still causes a lot of insulin to be released into the blood stream.
