Yogi's Random Training Thoughts

it’s bloody good if you’ve never done it. High rep front squats are a total game changer.

one other thing I’ve noticed from dieting is that my digestive health is fucking stellar.

It’s weird because I’m eating the same shit I eat normally, just much less of it.

Could it be the reason my gut health is so fucked up is simply because I eat too much food?

Be interesting to see how that develops once I start adding calories back in…

My wife’s cousin had sold me on the idea of a 1x/week 24 hour fast when I was cutting down for my last competition. I would do it differently every time - eat breakfast & lunch on Monday, not eat again until dinner Tuesday, then only eat breakfast Monday, lunch Tuesday, etc.

Anyway, after like week 6 everything felt better, I had more energy, my insides felt better, and I felt like my lifts were going up despite my body fat going down.

Damn, I feel like I’m trying to talk myself into it again lol.

This getting shredded thing’s starting to piss me off.

My abs look tremendous; waist has dropped a few inches round the navel, and veins are starting to show in the lower abs, but my god damn lower back is still carrying way more fat than I want it to.

It’s just these two pockets of fat around the love handle that are left, and they’re totally ruining the look of my obliques.

I had hoped to be almost done cutting by now and would be able to do a short, 4 week shoulder specialisation blast pre-holiday, but it looks like I’ll be going the distance with the cut.

Realistically I have 4 more weeks to drop the last of the fat. I think it’s doable but it’s going to have to get fairly brutal, and the 4th week may well involve some clenbuterol if I’m not where I want to be by then. I really do not enjoy taking clen so it’d be nice not to have to do that.

I’m extremely tempted to take Clen. I’ve taken it before, for asthma, but not in pill form or at a higher dose.

I know we can’t talk sources here… but would you buy online or should I try and find a gym bro?

I’ve never had a problem buying shit online. It’s always been legit.

Problem with clen is the strength seems to vary wildly. I’ve bought clen twice in my lifetime, and the first time I was running 80-100mcg no problem.

The second batch of clen I bought I jumped straight in with 80mcg (I know, I know) and it was one of the worst decisions of my entire life. Heart was like a fucking sledgehammer in my chest.

In general though I’ve always bought my illegal shit over the internet and never had a problem. I buy a shitload of prescription drugs.

achieved a diet PR today:

Girlfriend told me my face is looking too thin. When people start commenting on how gaunt you look, you’re doing something right.

Well I’ll be damned.

My mom told me she noticed how “defined” my neck and clavicle areas looked. As a compliment she told me to go eat a cheeseburger lol.

I remember towards the end of my diet someone at work asking if I was sick.

“bloated” was the word my mum last used to describe me. She’s always been 100% against the lifting weights thing.

there’s a lady at my work who gives me all that sort of shit. “You’re fading away,” “there’s nothing of you,” etc.

She seems to have made it her personal mission to destroy my diet. Every day she brings in big bags of chocolates or cakes or whatever, and insists I have to have some. She’s really fucking persistent, too. Over the course of the day it builds, so it starts out like “now Bob, I’ve brought in some chocolate so make sure you have some,” then it escalates slightly to “don’t forget to have some of that chocolate I’ve brought in,” and then finally “Bob! You still haven’t eaten any of that chocolate!”

I have no idea why it’s so important to her that I eat the chocolate, but I’m not giving the old bitch the satisfaction.

I’d be tempted to tell her to fuck off. When it happened to me it was genuine concern and curiosity, like, is something seriously wrong?

Haha, she’s actually really super nice, and is just doing the classic old lady thing of trying to feed everyone up like she was your granny.

She wants me to grow up big and strong.

Then she should give you lots of steroids

Hey Yogi,

I have digestive issues also, can I ask what your current diet plan looks like?

She thinks he is still too young to take the sterons without permanent, irreversible damage to the body. Or maybe she’s about the ALL NATTY LYFE.

Certainly:

Breakfast - chicken breast
Lunch - turkey breast, onion, peppers, tomatoes, spinach
Dinner - omelette with a little cheese and whatever veg I can be arsed throwing in.

I don’t eat my first meal until I’ve been awake 7 hours or so.

I was a little worried to introduce the eggs but because my gut has been so healthy of late it seems to be tolerating them fine. When I come off the diet and start eating to grow again they’ll be out, but for now they’re an easy way to get my fats in and also make for a good, filling meal for before bed.

In my experience, the only way to improve gut health is to remove the food groups giving you problems. If there’s any doubt at all that you are not digesting a food properly then just get rid. I’ve recently had to get rid of coffee, as drinking it on an empty stomach (during my morning fast) was causing me issues.

Also, if you’ve never tried it, megadosing glutamine is a total game changer. It’s literally been a life changing addition for me.

What kind of daily dose of glutamine are we talking?

My gut health is not great at the minute, maybe this could help.

you need to start out at like 50g for a couple of weeks, then you can gradually reduce it over a few weeks until either weaning yourself off of it or moving to a maintenance dose of 20g a day.
