Yankee Fans Boo Cheney

#1

"Big Time" Dick Cheney was treated to boos at the recent Red Sox/Yankees game, when his image was flashed on the score board.

I love New Yorkers. Hey Dick, "Go 'F' yourself!" (Right back at ya). Fans reportedly "felt better" after giving Cheney a Bronx Cheer.

Geeze, this is going to make Cheney even more tense and irritable.

"Dick Cheney Booed When Shown On Screen At Yankees Game
June 30, 2004

NEW YORK -Vice President Dick Cheney was on hand for Tuesday's sell-out game between the Yankees and Red Sox in New York.

But the VP probably didn't win any votes in New England as he donned a Yankees baseball hat.

Cheney visited both clubhouses after batting practice and watched part of the game from the box of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

He also spent time in first-row seat next to the Yankees dugout, where he sat between New York Gov. George Pataki and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Cheney was booed when he was shown on the right-field videoboard during the seventh-inning stretch.

Just shocking that a bunch of New Yorkers would boo Dick Cheney.

New York City is one of the most liberal areas of the nation. Not much of a surprise.

Some reports I saw on blogs in response to this story said he was cheered first, then booed. Nothing about the boos drowning out the cheers either. But take it for what it's worth -- both the original story and the other stuff.
