I'm doing part 3 of the WS4SB program, and in the program it lists pullup variations as a max effort exercise. I was wondering if anyone has any input on using these for a max effort exercise, since I'm sort of worried about not having any heavy pressing movement for 2-3 weeks if I do a cycle of pullups for my main lift. Thanks.
You could still do relatively heavy [6-ish reps] db pressing as an accessory move after the weighted pulls.
x2. You are/should be getting enough pressing and tricep work through your accessory work so there shouldnt be a problem. Ive only done M.E Pullups once since its my lats/upper back isnt my weak point at the time but when I did, my bench strength did increase.
