Workout Music

I just got an Ipod for my birthday Friday Night and over the past two days I’ve been downloading a bunch of music that I can run and lift weights to, was just wondering what everyones play-lists looks like.

So far I’ve downloaded music from artists such as:

Metallica, Disturbed, Puddle of mudd, Three days grace, Eminem, DMX, Queen, Tupac, u2, Pantera, AC/DC, and Pink Floyd.

With that being said, alot of the music I’ve already heard and am pretty bored of, was wondering what some of you guys listen to when you are in the gym and trying to nail that last rep.

In Flames
Silent Civilian
All That Remains
Bullet For My Valentine

You can run a search too. There have been many threads like this.

Fort Minor and Flipsyde

Billy Idol. No workout is complete without Billy Idol.

I don’t use music anymore, I can actually concentrate in the gym now. However when I used to last year, I would listen to a lot of Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains and Perfect Circle in the gym.

Cowboys From Hell by Pantera, with “Domination” being the best workout PR setting psyche-up inducing metal motivator the world has ever heard.

Generally songs with fewer lyrics work better, I can’t listen to my usual collection working out as I get too into the music and distracted.

Other notable blood rate boosters include “Get Some Go Again” by Rollins Band and “Piranha” by Exodus, or the excellent cover by Sepultura.

Slayer’s “God Hates Us All”. Exile and Payback are 2 really good songs IMO.

In Flames (seconded)

Avenged Sevenfold has a few really good albums. If you like screamo, get Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen. If you like something more like GNR or Iron Maiden, get City of Evil.

American Head Charge
Hatebreed (live for this)

Gangster rap.

Vince Lombardi

I don’t have an iPod, but I always listen to the Rocky theme song before going to the gym. It gets me fired up.

this site is fuckin awsome, great for broadening your musical tastes in a certain genre.

You type an artist in and then it plays you songs from artists that are similar plus songs from the artist you typed in.

Great for when you want to listen to a particular genre but are bored with the artists you’ve already got in that genre. gives you a chance to sample some different bands and decide whether you want to hear more. works well for me because alot of the music i like doesnt get much airplay.

As for lifting music, slayer, cannibal corpse, and the datsuns are on my lifting cd.
