I'm one workout away from finishing up korte's 3x3 volume portion and it has been very humbling. For ease of explaining lets just say the program is 4 weeks of 5x5 three times a week. I ran into a huge surprise this last month, my 5x5 lifts are that of when my max was at least a hundred pounds less. Back when i squatted 425ish and deadlifted about 500, my 5x5 on each were 405 and 365 which is about where they are at now squatting about 550 and deadlifting around 650.
Is this a problem? I understand that it's not optimal but my lifts have faired ok without increasing it. Since I have no meets in the near future and my lifts are kind of slowing down at the moment should i work on increasing the 5x5 numbers for the future?
