im just looking for a decent winter jacket/coat and havent found anything too apealling (withen the low to high $100 range.
im not really down for spending 240 on a coat.

i dont drive either so most of my shopping is limited to web. im not into the whole Columbia style either.

You spend more on pants than you do on your coat?

i know. everyone has Northface, either a northface backpack or jacket, which is why i dont want one.

and when have i ever spent $200 on jeans? i love how i have my own little accountants on T-Nation, but i hate that they have no idea what theyre doing.

I was very happy with my wool overcoat which I bought way back in '98, but a couple of winters ago, being out with 2 dogs at 6am really was killing me, so I caved and bought a puffy northface that all the kids seem to wear. Best investment ever. yes, they’re not cheap, but I can toss it on over a t-shirt and be fine during the NY winters.

Just wear your mother’s coat.

Not sure what kind of quality winter jacket you’ll find for 100 bucks, but I’ve always been a fan of Mountain Hardware. Marmot, North Face, and Arcteryx make nice jackets as well.

Their coats are more in the ~200+ dollar range, but are well worth it. LL Bean also has some good coats, and they’re a little less expensive for the most part.

I’ve been rockin a North Face for years and love it. Couldn’t find a more more warm jacket in the winter months.

If I’m going out somewhere decent I wear my dressier jacket instead.

I heard the British really enjoy these…

You can get them for free in Milledgeville, GA.

ill save the LL Bean for rainjack, i bet he could find some nice rainboots in there too something to match his walker.

i just havent found any middle ground. ive been finding decent brands at lower ranges but their stuff just doesnt look good. its like everything is either $1-200 or $500+

i guess ill just have to man up and make a decsion on something, but id hate to get something in the wrong size, XL seems to range anywhere from a medium to a XXL.

These old school flight jackets are awesome if you have the extra $$$… they probably last a lifetime though.

800$ wow

I’d take a hard look at army surplus stores before I bought that.

My friend’s Grandpa gave him the flight jacket he used during the war when he died a few years ago.

It was ancient but was still in good condition even though his Gramps used it almost every day. Smelt heavily of cigar smoke though.

They have this on amazon.I like it, but I think I’ll wait seeing as I’ve got to drop the weight I’ve gained from my bulk.

Edit:

They also have tons of nice turtle necks that go with the jacket and they aren’t all that expensive either.

Carhart makes great stuff. Extremely durable comfortable and warm.

I have 2 carhart coats, the 1st one is a little ragged but held up through 2 winters of house construction and still warm as hell, the other is a little nicer but not nearly as warm.

ok, /thread i found the dopest jacket evah.
