Wind Farms Kill Eagles & Hundreds of Thousands of Other Birds

A victory for “Renewable Energy” and the Environmental Friendly Socialist Liberal…

"Hundreds of thousands of birds die each year flying into the deadly turbine blades atop the soaring towers that compose wind farms. The rule will give wind farms thirty year permits for the “non purposeful take of eagles-that is where the take is associated with but not the purpose of, the activity.” The take of eagles is also a euphemism for the slaughter of them.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/12/05/Obama-to-Sign-Rule-Allowing-Death-of-Eagles

Actually, the number of bird kills associated with our wind turbine farms, per AP, exceeds 570,000 annually. It is a statistic not likely to be brought up when an “environmentalist” parades an oil-soaked pelican before MSNBC.

I’ve never understood the left’s environmental friendly, tree-hugger mentality. You know the ones I’m talking about that live in a wooden house but they don’t want YOU to live in a wooden house. They commit criminal acts to prevent more wooden houses from being built.

The decisions made by these wise socialists are all over the map. Save the endangered “delta smelt” fish but halt water to California’s Central Valley, considered to be the richest and most productive farmland in the nation. That little shit fish landed on the endangered species list, causing a federal court to shut down vital pumps to farmers to help preserve it.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brad-wilmouth/2009/05/09/fnc-drought-stricken-farmers-lose-fight-water-endangered-fish

Then there’s busing. Spend billions of state and federal dollars in fuel to bus students across town. Sometimes a 45 minute trip away from their own neighborhood school because socialists believe there was something magical about sitting next to whites in a classroom.

It’s not what you learn it’s who you sit next to in a classroom. Just think of all the pollution from the exhaust of these buses driving back and forth so many miles. Doesn’t that defeat the federal Clean Air Act? Couldn’t they allow cheap energy from coal and forget about carbon footprints if they didn’t bus so many millions of students in every state? Millions of miles of driving has done what for education?

Global Warming junk scientist Al Gore predicted in 2009 that the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years.

Predicting that the ice caps were melting, the polar bears were drowning and Manhattan would sink beneath 20 feet of water “in the near future.” But since 1998, temperatures have been relatively flat. We’ve got more polar bears than ever, and Manhattan in spring last month was under snow. What a dick. And liberals wanted him as president.

Who would have been better Algore or Barack Hussein Obama the potus who now remembers that illegal immigrant uncle he said he never met. lol.

What have we learned here?

…killing hundreds of thousands of birds, including eagles that fly into windmills is okay but saving over 37,000 jobs lost due to the smelt fish issue and watering farmland that feeds the nation is not okay.

Should we hold our breath waiting for a Sierra Club commercial depicting the slicing and dicing of an eagle by turbine blades?

That’s dumber than George Bush isn’t it?

I saw the Vid…Sheesh, If our National Bird is so stupid to allow it being conked
on the head like that by a turbine moving slower than Molasses I think it’s high time to look
for another National Bird…These fuckin’ things can spot Rabbits a mile away but can’t
see big 3 assed propellers as long as buses turning slowly right in front of it?

I say we change our National Bird to the Vulture…It’s an ugly, Bad assed creature
that just doesn’t give a shit and isn’t stupid enough to get killed by Wind Turbines,
and a better choice than what Ben Franklin wanted as our Symbol…gobble gobble.

Annually, as many as 9 million die by colliding with skyscrapers in NYC alone. Put something in the air and a bird will find a way to break his skull on it.

They are not exactly spinning slowly. Depending on the wind speed of course, the ends of the rotors can easily be spinning in the 140-180 mph range.

Edit: I hate when my 1st post doesn’t show up until the 2nd one does.

Bald Eagles are actually doing better than they have in a long time, they were taken off the endangered species list a few years back.

Anytime humans build anything it will have an environmental impact. Anyone who argues otherwise left or right is an idiot. I’m sure brietbart has a long history of being anti-oil though correct since they appear to be trying to take this environmental stance right?

I wouldn’t know I don’t often read the far left or far right mouth breathing garbage.

They need to repurpose those feathers. Just imagine the dashing visage of a well off suburban family that is environmentally and socially aware, as noted by their hand made egyptian flax scarves, and their heads dressed in the finest fedora china can bang out by the million accoutered with the aforementioned feathers- stepping out of their Cayenne onto a majestic outlook high upon the plateau of some exotic location to view a stunning sunset and gaze lovingly at all that is good in gods green earth.

Got that image?

Now thats why those birds need to die. Part of the proceeds of those hats goes toward some cause that they feel strongly enough about to pay way too much for some dumb hat.

No one is gonna pay anything for something that isn’t dying.

H Factor, it is the fact the Obama Administration is fining Oil Companies, but letting off the hook Wind Farms that kill thousands and thousands of birds. It is the double standard that this administration is known for.

Are the sea creatures swimming into the oil well and suffocating? This doesn’t appear to be a situation where negligence is the issue but the bird’s inability to properly distinguish the wind turbine from the background. My suspicion is that the wind turbines needs some form of contrasted pattern to make them stand out. Even then, you can’t stop a bird from flying into shit.

This was an interesting article for more insight on the problem. It gives a significantly lower bird death toll than the Breitbart article. Do wind turbines kill birds? | HowStuffWorks

It’s obvious Obama is a Libyan born Al Qaeda sleeper cell agent otherwise had he been born in America he’d probably care about OUR bird!!

Lol, I couldn’t resist.

Wouldn’t it be funny if immigration didn’t let Obama back in the country when he returns from South Africa???

I would chuckle, but that is not going to happen.

No way the Bald Eagle has to be the most bad ass national symbol on the planet. Such a regal and stern creature.

I’d like to know how many eagle are actually dying versus other birds.

I can’t even count how many birds bounce off my house glass every week. I was sitting in my living room one Sunday afternoon and in the span of 2 hours, I had 4 glance off my front windows… BONK!!

I go out and look, there’s a bird getting up shaking his or her head. Some of them wind up with broken necks, I found 3 dead ones last week while raking leaves.

Against a fast-moving wind blade that they may or may not see, they don’t stand a chance in the wild. I’d imagine something can be placed on the blade to keep the birds from hitting them. Maybe a bright color or something that makes an offensive noise.

Hypocrisy from politicians has been and always will be the norm. This is hardly a “special” hallmark of the Obama administration. Here in conservative central Kansas we have issues of this type of hypocrisy all the time from crazy Sam Brownback and his cronies. Saying one thing and doing another is not a hallmark of only the left.

On that note, we can agree that the Left hates the environment too, yes ?
