Why We Died

If any question why we died,
Tell them, because our fathers lied.

Was there some point to this? Does it have something to do with the bank collapse in Europe?

"Belgium and Luxembourg are scrambling to protect depositors, and tens of thousands of jobs, by finding a buyer for what remains of the banking and insurance giant Fortis.

A week ago the two countries, along with the Netherlands, agreed to rescue the cross-border company in a multi-billion pound deal.

But the agreement held for just five days before the Netherlands nationalised most of the group’s Dutch units, leaving Belgium and Luxembourg groping for a solution."

I know what you’re talking about, but my great-grandfather’s brother got shot by a kraut and almost died while liberating your ancestors. He died of old age before I was born so I won’t get the chance to ask him if he would agree with Kipling that it wasn’t worth it.
