Why Attacks on Trump Don't Work

I have been reading quite a bit about Gary Johnson. The Libertarian convention is this week I believe and am waiting to see if he is their choice.

I don’t consider myself libertarian, but I like what I’ve read about him thus far. he’s done a lot of good things as Governor of New Mexico and in the private sector. I think he has one of the better shots at winning a 3rd party run (that I like).

Bloomberg is another (that I don’t like, but that could win), but he’s said he’ll stay out of the race.

Otherwise I think I’ll write in General Mattis as a protest vote.

And for good reason. As I stated a few days back. Can you name the last time a third party candidate won the White House?

Abe Lincoln, thank God he didn’t just accept the inevitable.

For someone who does not support trump, you argue on behalf of his supporters an awful lot.

You might just as well write in Captain Crunch.

156 years ago…And how many times have 3 or more candidates run for the Presidency and one of the two major parties lost?

So, it’s pretty inevitable that either Hillary (if not indicted before the convention) or Trump will be the next President.

Possibly, but it’s rather difficult to analyze non-quantitative data so my guess is these individuals, like everyone else, are using their pre-conceived bias’ to quantifying said data limiting the usefulness of the outcome.

Anyway, this whole conversation is relatively pointless. Anyone that knows anything about analytic’s will tell you the analysis of mostly qualitative data is limited in it’s value because someone somewhere has to convert the qualitative data to quantitative data and this introduces bias. Point being, you can have two high level analyses with opposite finds. So, in a very round about way, I agree with you. How’s about that?

Gary Glitter might get more votes.

A capitalist vs a socialist in America? Sounds like a blood bath. Sanders would get destroyed

Like just about every other conversation on T Nation PWI threads.

It was pretty inevitable that our tea would be taxed at absurd levels and the King of England would rule the colonies for a 1,000 years.

Things are only inevitable for those that lack vision and accept what they’re told to accept.

I think I saw retirees up there as well

I disagree, but what else is new…?

I actually like your attitude and have this same mind-set when it comes to personal and business challenges in my own life. But when it comes to politics I have little faith in the electorate I’ve lived through (and read through) too many Presidential elections to think that suddenly the American people will become engaged and actually choose the proper candidate the way it should be done. Hey, it happens on occasion but it’s usually few and far between. But…stay positive you never know in the future.

As for this election I don’t hold out any hope that we will get anyone good.

I would not underestimate the power of younger millennials who feel the game is rigged against them and cannot see that Capitalism is better for them in the long run. These are young adults that came into adulthood on or after the recession began with recovery limping forward ever since. Their entire adult lives have been consumed with unemployment figures, limited gdp growth, bubble’s bursting, and fraud after fraud. Government is an enticing choice to the low information voter that just wants their piece.
