Wholemeal/Wholewheat Bread

I have always heard that wholemeal bread is a better alternative to white bread as it has a lower glycaemic index, but is it really any better? Let’s say I want to take slow digesting carbs, should I take wholemeal bread since the GI of it is roughly the same as white bread, only a little lower. Or should I choose better alternatives such as bran cereals instead?

No prob, I’ve been eating that stuff lately (not because I care about my health, but I just wanted to try it) and it’s actually pretty good. It has a real hearty full taste, and leaves you full for a long time.
