Who is your Favorite Powerlifter?

Ed Coan - 901 DL at 220 is probably one of the greatest single lift achievements ever done. He also consistently put up SHW numbers for over a decade.

He’s opening up a gym where I live in like two weeks. Man am I gonna get a subscription there.

As for my vote, either Benedikt Magnusson or Ed Coan.

Matt Kroc is insane. So he gets my vote.

And you can never go wrong with Ed.

Matt Kroc.

Kroc

Does anyone know Ed Coan’s stats from when he first started lifting? I remember seeing a photo of him from when he was 15 or 16 benching 475.

You can’t be serious. And that bench press, it should never be raw! It’s just too damn beastly…

Oleksandr Kutcher

Didn’t Coan bench something like 550 raw in a meet?

In his first ever meet, taken from his book “I squatted 500lbs weighing 150, I also benched 295lbs and deadlifted 495lbs.” This was done in January 1980, while still in high school.

Lee Moran.

Saw him in “Power unlimited”, guy had the first 1000 pound squat. R.I.P.

…Some people say its Fred Hatfield who did it first…

I was clarified when I watched power unlimited. Lee Moran did it in a local meet… Fred Hatfield has probably done it in a sanctioned meet with a well known PL fed.[/quote]

Did you watch the movie? Dave Waddington did it first, in a local meet, then Moran was the first to do it on a “big” stage.
