The guy is utterly amazing in his work.

Leo DiCaprio, if he’s in it, it doesn’t suck
George Clooney
Sydney Pollack

Also

Tom Hanks
Russel Crowe
Paul Bettany
Robert Redford

As for the women:

Kate Winslett
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Leslie Mann
Tilda Swinton

In my mind, there are no better combinations on screen than when Pollack and Clooney interracted together in “Michael Clayton” Sad that Pollack is no longer with us.

Crowe and Bettany are really good together as well, they play well off of each other. (Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander)

  1. Denzel Washington
  2. Daniel Day Lewis
  3. Benecio Del Torro

Christopher Walken
John Cusak…One of my favorite movies is Say Anything from back in the day.
Mickey Rourke. I have new respect for him after seeing The Wrestler".

1.) Daniel Day-Lewis
2.) Nick Cage
3.) John C. Riley

Daniel Day-Lewis. Hands down.

Christian Bale is great, he just needs some projects to really let him dig deep.

Sean Penn is incredible. However…

Mickey Rourke got robbed.

Sorry, I couldn’t whittle it down to three.

Personal Faves:

Living:

Gary Oldman
Cate Blanchett
Michael Wincott
Hugo Weaving

Deceased:

Alec Guinness
Brandon Lee (had a lot of potential)

Since I don’t want to mention any names that have already been said:

Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Daniel Day Lewis
Leonardo DiCaprio (hate to say it, but he’s a great actor).

And an up and comer:
Joseph Gordon-Levitt [/quote]

Good list. Don’t see Hoffman in too many roles, but he does a good job. I liked him in Charlie Wilson’s War

“Go fuck yourself, you fucking child”

I thought Hoffman had a good role in Jurassic park 3.

kevin spacey
Christopher plummer
William H macy
Jeff Goldblum or however you spell it
Sir BEn Kingsley

Hoffman tends to be in movies that aren’t blockbusters or he doesn’t play the lead, so it’s sometimes easy to forget all the other stuff he’s been in.

The thing I love about him is that he’s pretty much fantastic no matter what role he plays. Even if the movie itself isn’t very good, he’s usually great and his performance makes the movie worth watching.

Robert Downey Jr.

Fuck you guys, im gonna go watch Die Hard again.

  1. Johnny Depp, In my opinion the greatest actor ever. From Willy Wonka to Sweeny Todd? Awesome.

  2. James Stewart. Dead 12 years and still the best “Aw, Shucks” type actor ever. Mr Smith Goes to Washington should be mandatory viewing in all political courses.

  3. Christan Bale. Able to play a badass and still seem smart.

Ray Liotta!

  1. Bruce Campbell

  2. Christopher Walken

  3. Gary Oldman

I forgot to mention Paddy Considine, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jeffrey Wright. They are all extremely versatile, and Wright even manages to outshine Christian Bale in Shaft. All three would make it into my top five, even though they aren’t exactly the biggest name actors around.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention my personal hero, Bruce Campbell! Good call Itchy. I must commit seppaku now.

Prior to Bale and Terminator:

  1. Robert Downey Jr.
  2. Ed Norton
  3. Christian Bale

After the Terminator set tape was leaked:

  1. Christian Bale
  2. Christian Bale
  3. Christian Bale

Epic lulz.
