I am guessing it is due to the fact that many people have an intolerance to dairy. If that is the case, I don’t think it matters what type of whey one ingests. Unfortunately, all types of whey break out my skin.

I have read the fast insulin spikes start a “chain reaction” the ultimately lead to over production of sebum which clogs the pores causing inflammation and pimples. If this is so “in some” than hydro may also be an issue as it has that going for it.
Of course the occasional spike especially well timed around training should not cause a problem as the body is utilizing the spike.
