If you mean south as in ‘south of Canada’ (i.e. the US), yep it can make a difference. If you mean the region of the US called the South, well, most people are pretty friendly there.

South St Petersburg, FL. Stay near the beaches there pretty awesome. Most places are fine once you go inland but there are some real goons in south st pete. But i guess thats true no matter where you go.
