But to address the question, “When to Use Isolation Exercises?”

When training for muscle size: Often.

When training for general athletic performance: Rarely.

  • As a combination on every workout for complete development, increasing the involvement of the muscle group.

  • At the beginning of the workout, when another muscle that doesn’t want to be worked during the session takes over.

It’s the same as “when should you get married”
