I’m a semi-pro rugby league athlete in Australia looking for a suitable Olympic lifting program to move onto. I’m currently using Wendlers 5/3/1 building a decent level of strength. Ideas? Help…

Did you want to start using Olympic lifting as supplementary to rugby?

I’m speculating here, but I think most advanced Oly programs are catered to people trying to compete in Oly lifting. That means they are meant to increase strength while not gaining weight, which means CNS adaptations, which means lot and lots of volume. Maybe try consulting a good strength coach about it, they should be able to help you adapt it to your Rugby much better than someone like me.
