What's My BF?

I included a shoe.

Bauer is going to kill you.

Why is that Bauer’s slipper? haha

So the dog is your BF?

…and then eat you.

I considered it, but…

  1. He didn’t include some terrible Windows Paint cutout image of that stupid blurry brown shoe from the original thread

  2. He DID include a picture of a Golden Retriever, officially the greatest dogs ever, instead of some stupid emaciated pre-pubescent teen

However, I’m still annoyed…

I think you meant to say that Golden Retriever’s are the second best dog, next to german shepherds.

Sorry Barney. You and Bauer are both wrong…

Barney, do you have a German Shepherd? I would like to get one next spring. Do you know of some good breeders in Kansas? I know alot of them (like many dogs) are bred with little regard to health/temperament and want to make sure I get a good one.

I grew up with a German Shepherd. It was by far the best friend you could ever have. It has an inherent need to protect the ones it loves. The only downside I could see is their size and strength. the one we had was HUGE. He was easily 6 feet tall when standing on his hind legs. I used to ride on his back as a kid…until someone killed him.

That might be the worst end to a post I’ve ever read in my entire life…

I’d honestly have rather heard about how the dog killed somebody than the other way around…

As for the discussed topic (well, not really, since this thread wasn’t intended to be about dogs at all, but I sure fucked that up!):

I agree German Shepherds, and most dogs for that matter, are absolutely amazing companions.

But I’ve had/have 6 different breeds of dog, and NOTHING compares to the loyalty, friendliness, compassion, trust and undying faith in you that a Golden Retriever offers.

My next 2 dogs are going to be a yellow lab and a boxer purchased together as puppies in about a year, so we’ll see how they compare…

It was a rough neighborhood.

Understood, but still… who the hell kills a dog?

If I ruled this country, I would have public executions for anyone who kills a dog.

Such incredibly rational thoughts are probably a good reason I don’t rule a country, but whatever…

With you new size you should find that person and kill him… well maybe not kill but atleast scare him enough so he shits himself.

I’m partial to Goldens, as well. Chocolate Labs are probably my second favorite breed.

It is difficult to narrow down, though; except that I will choose a large-breed work dog over a small-breed, anyday.

Someone trying to break into your house through the back door but finding a very large mammal guarding it.

Acaully my pets > T-Nation.

I totally agree with the German Shepherd being the best dog. Big, strong, loyal and intelligent. I guess this is why they make good police dogs.

I miss my dogs :frowning:

The farmer who has been losing stock to domestic dogs. The waterfowl owner, like myself, who has to deal with irresponsible pet owners who think it is fine to let their animals roam. The parent who, in horror watches a stray attack his child in his own yard.

That’s who.

Actually, just the opposite is true. Almost evert state has a nuisance dog law allowing the killing of dogs.
Here is the citation from the Ohio Revised Code:

[b]? 955.28. Dog may be killed for certain acts; owner liable for damages.

(A) Subject to divisions (A)(2) and (3) of section 955.261 [955.26.1] of the Revised Code, a dog that is chasing or approaching in a menacing fashion or apparent attitude of attack, that attempts to bite or otherwise endanger, or that kills or injures a person or a dog that chases, injures, or kills livestock, poultry, other domestic animal, or other animal, that is the property of another person, except a cat or another dog, can be killed at the time of that chasing, approaching, attempt, killing, or injury. If, in attempting to kill such a dog, a person wounds it, he is not liable to prosecution under the penal laws which punish cruelty to animals.

(B) The owner, keeper, or harborer of a dog is liable in damages for any injury, death, or loss to person or property that is caused by the dog, unless the injury, death, or loss was caused to the person or property of an individual who, at the time, was committing or attempting to commit a trespass or other criminal offense on the property of the owner, keeper, or harborer, or was committing or attempting to commit a criminal offense against any person, or was teasing, tormenting, or abusing the dog on the owner’s, keeper’s, or harborer’s property. [/b]

While I have never killed a dog, I do keep a rifle handy. I have also captured a few and transported them to the pound. If I can find an owners name on the tag, I call them first, then I take the dog to the pound.

I think the law should be amended to allow for the shooting of the owner of the dog instead, since the dog is just being a dog. The safety of these animals rests with their owners, who are often too lazy to take it seriously.
