Hey T-Folk. Wave loading - Ian King outlines it in his article here www.testosterone.net/articles/150pain.html but it just doesn’t make sense. (Check out his example if you don’t know what I’m talking about with wave loading.) Why would you do relatively heavy sets when ‘working up to’ the MAX set at the end…??? I’d understand if the reps were changed (1/6/1/6, etc…), but they’re not…! I’m lost, where’s the sense in what IK is teaching???
I know what you’re talking about. The set after the wave loading in most of King’s programs, though, is a back-off, higher rep set, so maybe having the heavy single at the end of the waves facilitates greater performance on that set. If you’re not doing a back-off set after your waves then I’d switch up the sets as you suggested.
