What Poliquin Means by '2 Lifts a Day'?

hi,

Poliquin writes in an articles about fast-twitched athletes the following:

“An ideal workout for (…) would include perhaps two lifts a day consisting of 10-12 sets of 1-3.”

Could someone please tell me whether he means that each of these two lifts consists of 10-12 reps or whether he means that the complete workout consists of 10-12 sets?
Probably I don’t get it because english is not my mother language.

Thanks!

It means for each exercise. If you take the average 11 sets of 2 reps you get 22 reps. The context of where this come from might prove me wrong but i doubt he is recommanding 11 reps each.
All the best!
