What Kind of Deadlift is This?

It’s impressive but I have never seen anything like it.

My back hurts from watching that.

Jefferson Lift

Aperently it’s called the Jefferson Lift here is a link that explains WHY you would use it.

Interesting. Thanks I had no idea such a lift existed

So basically it’s an easier form than the reg deadlift because you can recruit your legs?

Looks a bit awkward.

I’m fairly certain that wasnt the best example of excellent jefferson lift form, but that happens in competition. I personally wouldn’t have imagined it was a stronger lift than the regular deadlift because when I tried those with my friends once it set our quads on fire. I came accross it on the Sandowplus website where an author reccomended those be done from a platform for increased range of motion.

I thought the Jefferson lift was more focused toward quads?

I just saw it myself in last months issue of MD with Kai Greene doing them…

I have seen and heard of more of this old school type training and lifts more and more as of late… Maybe old school is Avant-garde…
