Meat lost a front squat bet with Swolle. The loser had to leave the site for good. Meat has kept his word.
Didnt Swole leave with him? Damn that was one weird thread.
That thread was the worst…and losing Meat here really blows.

Just remembered another… proteinpowda. That guy was good for some serious unintentional lols.

Is that thread still around? What was it called?

i had no idea about the MM Swole thread!

i just read it. what could have been a fucking great thread (friendly competition and fun) ended up a sad reflection of the complete lack of civility in our society these days, especially on internet forums.

I remember having all sorts of competitions at gyms i trained at with my lifting buddies, i remember one time a LONG time ago a guy who i was sure was selling AAS out of his gym bag at our gym and i really wanted some free stuff, so i bet him i could hit 500x10 conventional raw deadlifts with no warmup, if i won i could have anything in his bag i wanted, he agreed, i won, and he had nothing of worth in his bag, definitely no vials of AAS, LOL. i strained a hamstring and had to take it easy for a month for NOTHING, lol

but that was just sad.

btw, before anyone freaks out about my openness about my use of AAS, get over it. this was over 20 years ago, shit was not a big deal then, hell, half of my law enforcement buddies were using.

What a fucking stupid thread. I totally missed it. One day I just started wondering wtf happened to MM. That is so stupid.

I skimmed through the last few pages and it really seemed like Meat was looking for a good way out of the site anyway and that it was going to happen sooner or later regardless.

In Meat’s words:

And tons of them who still do. At one point one asked me what I was using because he was “ya know, trying to put on some weight…”.

Creatine and protein powder was not the answer he was looking for.

It just occurred to me that there are barely any women left that post outside PW or 035. Maybe I’m reading the wrong threads but it seems like there are none left. Can anyone correct me on that observation?
This was my first thought when I came back. My old username was 911Girl. First thing I went looking for after placing my Grow! Order. Speaking of that why the heck did they change its name?!

Immediately noticed lack of women, coincidentally also the lack of Nate Dog and Prof X.

The last 5 years away from weights have wrecked me, but I am coming back with a vengeance.

Meat’s still beastin…

This. That could have been a great and positive competition but for some reason it ended with two high-quality posters leaving the site.

I’ve said this before, but I really miss Alpha. Does anyone know if his blog is still going, or what he’s up to?

curious, what was awesome, the thread as a whole or this swolle person front squatting 405x7?

im just asking, because, to me what made that thread even more sad was that neither one of them really should have been bragging about a 405 front squat for reps, unless it was like 20.

no disrespect, but come on, there are chinese women olympic lifters that i wager can out front squat both of them, and male olympic lifters under 180lbs that can do that too.

is it more than i can or could ever do? probably, i hit 160-200kg for 1-3 reps more time than i can count, and i hit 200kg a few time too, all with at the most belt and knee sleeves, and the depth was rock bottom too.

it really was stoopid on many different levels, feat of strength being contested was not THAT impressive that such high stakes and genuine emotion were attached to it,

and the premise was silly too, who gives a fuck about high reps in a front squat?

no swolle, front squats are n0ot “yours” you are not even that good at them, if any group has made them “theirs” i would say it is the Olympic lifting community. they do not car about reps, unless they are under 3. and these guys don’t even train for bodybuilding, they don’t diet, and i say i have seen many many of those guys whose quad and overall leg development was just as good as yours, or better.

THAT was like having a batting contest to see who could hit the longest GROUND BALL. haha

i would say the front s
Yep, he was very cool. Sasquatch was another guy that popped in once a couple years ago again and then disappeared again too. I miss Firebug too. Where are ya Malinda? There was this person who used to post all the time. REALLY solid nutrition information. I PMed back and forth for like week before she told me she was a girl. Had no idea. From Florida. This was like 4 or 5 years ago. We Pmed for a couple months about food, lipid adapted eating and consulting as a business which was what she did and then poof. Just vaporized right in the middle of a conversation. Cannot remember her name.

Alpha. Such an insane mix of strength and conditioning and his posts were always super motivational.
