hey all,
i was just wondering how to get an even bigger burn in my abdominals to help them, for lack of better term,“pop” sooner. when i started i was 220lbs and had around a 20% BF i am currently still 220lbs but ive cut my BF to 15%, i am starting to see some definiton, but not as much as i would like.
I guess my real question is, does my BF need to be significantly lower before they< my abs, really start to show? As well what forms of core work, other than crunches, leg raises, and planks can help accelerate the process. any and all feedback is appriciated thanks for your time
I’ve found that really dialing in my diet makes my abs way more visible at higher body fat levels. I’m getting around 20% above maintenance right now, am around 14% body fat, and still have a little bit of definition. When I’m monitoring my carb intake at the same body weight and body fat, though, I look and feel much leaner than if I’m stuffing my face with hamburgers.

Same here. I can visibly see the difference in my midsection within days of controlled carbs. It’s just the glycogen bloat disappearing.

lmao what?[/quote]
whats funny?
When you eat excessive carbs, you store excessive glycogen and subq water. When you reduce those carbs, that bloat reduces a bit as well.

How much weight have you lost since that pic Forces? Just out of curiosity.
But yea, bottom line is, bf needs to be significantly lower to see 6 pack. All the crunches and deadlifts in the world won’t make them “pop” if there is still a layer of fat blanketing them.
