Meet prep, candito, powerlifting
I am starting to prepare for my first powerlifting meet, which takes place on the 5 Nov. I am currently using Wendler 531 (https://www.t-nation.com/workouts/531-how-to-build-pure-strength) and intend to start the candito (http://www.canditotraininghq.com) six weeks prior to the meet.
I’d forgotten you were using 531. There’s little need to go to Candito in that case. Just do your cycles and spend the week prior to the meet resting. If you really want you could drop the plus part of the plus sets during your last four weeks and hit joker singles instead to get used to heavier loads. That’s pretty much what I’m doing now.
Sorry, that was my bad. I didn’t go back through your last thread and forgot you were using 531.
Continuing 531, Deadlift day went good as I set a new PR.
I had no intention in maxing, but I felt really good when lifting.
Then Overhead press (missed my shoulder workout yesterday)
20,25,30,40,45kg x 5, then 4x10 at 30kg explosive
I then did Lat pulldown 3x10 and db curls 2 sets
Best time to max hands down.
