Hey guys, I seemed to have pulled my hamstring running sprints on Saturday. It’s odd this time because it’s not in the muscle body, the pain seems to be in the tendon of the long head a couple inches above attachment into the knee.
I would guess it was a sudden tendon inflammation because I don’t see what would cramp in that spot but it felt like a pull at the time.
It can’t be too serious because there is no discoloration in the area and it didn’t hurt too much yesterday. Hurts a little more today because I missed my icing this morning.
I’m concerned that if it happens again the tendon could rupture. I’ve heard that hamstring tendons rupture at the ass attachment not the knee attachment. Does anyone know if this is true?
Does anyone have experience with this type of pull? Any recommendations?
