Weighing Food on a Scale?

For those who have cut or weight their food Do you do it after you cook or before? I ask because when I cook chicken or steak it always weighs about 2-3 oz more raw then when cooked. which should I be following?

I use the calorie count on the bag or package.

http://www.ars.usda.gov/Services/docs.htm?docid=5720

you are looking for the file:

pcs19.exe

the database will have values for raw food and cooked (by method). way more info than any nutrition label.
