Lady’s retarted. Within the same short clip of the interview she states she’s completely capable of taking care of all of her kids by herself… Then she turns around and says she’ll be able to do it with the help of her mother and CHURCH VOLUNTEERS!!

That’s because a large number of people who follow that religion are severely mentally deficient.

Or, at least, good enough to offer their time and resources to help another person deal with the consequences of her actions.

I’m hopeful we can take measures to prevent women like this from being so irresponsible in future by tightening restrictions on IVF the way we do for adoption. We can prevent those with over a certain number of children from implanting more if they don’t have the resources to care for them, and we can limit the number of embryos implanted to reduce the possibility of multiple births. The doctor acted staggeringly unethically here. A fertile (well semi fertile)young woman like Sulayman should never have had 8 embryos implanted in her–carrying so many children developmentally damaged many of them.

The REAL problem is the same restrictions do not apply to people having children the old fashioned way. So quiverfulls and other religious-fertility nuts are more dangerous than the one-off weirdos like Sulayman.

  1. It’s not about people of a certain religion being mentally deficient…

  1. It’s also not about people being ‘good’ enough to help this lady care for her 16-too-many kids. It’s about the fact that she claims that she is able to provide for them, while also saying that she needs help from outside sources… free or otherwise.

That was the part I was offering a second perspective on, not necessarily the issue in general of the woman’s decision and it’s effects on California’s taxpayers.

I can see some idiotic Christian types lining up to support this social parasite. Just imagine how much of a “sin” it would have been to save the taxpayers 1.7 million dollars by dropping her fat ass off at the abortion clinic.

She wasn’t seeking an abortion, and this has nothing to do with abortion. Dropping her off at an abortion clinic wouldn’t have accomplished a thing, as she would’ve just grabbed a bus back home.

The Christian types are probably thinking more about the kids. Private charity is no skin off my nose, or yours. The decision can be made to drop people from the program, if they wish. And, nobody is forced into participation.
