So, we talked extensively about knives, it was fun to geek out over them for a couple days… So, the logical topic now is watches…
What do you wear? How do you like it? How long have you had it?
I’m wearing two different ones right now.
The Casio Pathfinder, which has all the bells and wistles of a G-shock, same durability in my opinion, along with a digital compass, altimiter, and baromater/thermometer. I use the compass all the time as well as the thermometer and altimiter. It’s just awesome to have all those tools accessable on your wrist. It’s my every-day work watch as well as what I wear hiking, camping, etc. I think it’s the next best thing to wearing a Sunto, which I just can’t justify paying that much for.
I also have a fossil black-faced “diamond” something or other that I wear with a suit or whenever I feel like dressing up. It’s sleek, shiny, and didn’t break the bank when I bought it. Fits nice and has a push-button release on the metal band which is a good feature.

No “bling” here…I hate that shit. [/quote]
Same here. I don’t even wear a watch. I made (sculpted in wax and casted in silver) all of the jewelry I own. I do like Fossil watches though with the leather bands.
I’m just rocking a Swiss Army watch right now, but I am on the lookout for an “engagement” watch…only right after shelling out tons on the ring. Any suggestions??
I like the Tags but they could use a lil more bling, was also looking at Sector.

Black Swiss Army here too.
In Australia I actually bought…get this…a Swiss NAVY watch made in Japan. Piece of crap, but I got it for the novelty. Only the time worked. There were 3 other dials for alarm, day and month, but they did not work.
I’ve worn a Swiss Army Officer’s Model watch for approx. 10 years. Only had to replace the battery twice so far.
This watch is rock solid. I’ve taken it scuba diving, rock climbing, surfing, bungee jumping, snowboarding, wakeboarding and white water rafting and it’s taken everything I’ve thrown at it.
I like the clean, efficient design. Mine is slightly different than the one in the picture, as it has a white face and black numbers, but is otherwise identical.
Ironically, though I always carry a knife, I havent worn a watch in years. Most of the time I’d rather not know what time it is. Plus having cellphones kind of took their importance away. I used to dig the Timex Ironman’s that you could beat the shit out of tough.
I wore a Skagen slim mesh, for a long time. Clean lines. All steel, very “moderne.” Good bang for the buck.
I dig Fossil too. Nice designs, good quality, not too expensive.
Of course, if I won the lottery I’d be all over a Franck Muller Tourbillon (see pic), but that’s just a perverse gluttonous fantasy
While we’re on the subject, can anyone recommend a watch for the gym? I’m looking for something that can do interval timing for Tabatas and HIIT, but I don’t want or need much more than that. Cheaper is better, since I tend to beat the hell out of watches.
