Warming Up for a Set of 5?

When doing a set of 3x5 what is a good way to warm up?

triples, singles, light light heavy etc

thank you

There is no set answer, go with what feels right for you. I usually use 3s, 5s, and 8s to warmup, but not always.

Just get warm.

Don’t overthink…

10,8,6,5.
10,8,5.

How about a set of ten at 50 percent of your max?

Really, what a silly question. Do something to get the blood pumping without taxing your body!

Start with sets of 5 of the exercise you’re going to do, at half the weight you are going to use for your work sets, and add weight until you get there.

Or do what one of the other guys said. Just don’t do something stupid like get on the tread mill or exercise bike.

Push ups or squats with 135

or maybe a shamefully light weight on the pec dec or the leg extension

I usually do a bunch of exercises from magnificent mobility right before squat or deadlift warmups. Then I’ll just do a few high(er) rep squats with lighter weight, work up to my workset weight and just do my worksets.

It’s not a silly question at all.

Obviously you want to do enough to get warm enough not to injure yourself, but not too much to fatigue yourself.

I’d go for 10, 8, 6, 5, 5, 5, etc
