Waking Up Sucks - Stress?

Ok, to start, I have been getting 8+ hours (even more) of sleep a day… I fall asleep at different times every day

For example:
I have gone to bed at 9pm, and woken up the next day at noon.
I have gone to bed at 3am, and woken up the next day at 9am.

both have the same outcome of feeling

If I don’t use an alarm, my body will NOT move in the morning. My muscles go completely inactive until I’ve woken up completely. There is no in between…

I always have a massive headache, and when I lift in the morning, I just start yawning, I get bored, lose all motivation after 4 or 5 lifts… and then stop.

I’ve looked into my diet, the only SERIOUS problem I’ve been having is my sugar intake. I have been eating fruity pebbles for breakfast (DELICIOUS!!), and I’ve been drinking Kool-Aid pretty regularly,

I know these are bad, I’ve cut out Kool Aid, but I don’t think fruity pebbles cause a massive headache(Unless you’re doing dishes… sticky little fuckin pebbles)

I just gained 4 or 5 lbs after a weekend birthday party for my buddy (All you can eat buffet, up all night at a casino, drinking free pop)… but I’ve had all these problems for awhile now.

I’ve also got lots of stress, I’m barely making college payments and this shit hasn’t even started yet… I’m generally unhappy a lot. I hope it’s not some sort of depression, but I am open to fixing WHATEVER IT MAY BE.

Any advice works

I don’t really understand this sort of post. You know you’re eating shit, so quit eating it. You know how I avoid eating shit? I don’t surround myself with it. Quit buying fruity pebbles, dumbass.

Also, it doesn’t matter if the cereal is causing headaches. Aren’t you the guy who wanted to loose a lot of fat? It’s not going to happen with fruity pebbles.

EDIT: maybe you’re the sun chips guy.

If you’re in college, go see your campus counselor, it’s free. If you’re unhappy, you need to take a serious inventory of what it is that makes you unhappy. Sometimes you can’t do that on your own. And you won’t find much sympathy here. Talking to someone helps. A lot.

Hahahaha.

First of all, this post isn’t about fat loss really, its about my sleeping issues and stress. Secondly, I’m done with the fat loss as my primary goal…

I’m just lifting for strength now, I’ll set other goals later on after the stress from college $$ goes away and I have more time to think about what I want from myself.

Secondly, I can eat all the damn fruity pebbles I want, you filth whore. I don’t call 1 bowl of cereal a day “eating shit”. My diet is otherwise good. I don’t eat anything short of fresh, lean meat, vegetables, etc.

Thirdly, I don’t expect you to get much after reading your response. On top of that, I lost a good 30 pounds eating SUNCHIPS regularly, so go ahead and lick my balls, I know my boundaries.

There is room for error in the diet when you’re young, and I’m young. Maybe you’re old, and that sucks for you, but don’t bring your shithead attitude here unless you have a constructive, intelligent response.

THIS IS ABOUT STRESS AND MY INABILITY TO FEEL GOOD. These problems have been going on MUCH LONGER than I have been eating FRUITY PEBBLES, I just thought I’d mention them, since people were gonna ask me what my current diet was.

Fruity pebbles and kool-aid is bullshit. The easiest change to make to your diet is to trade all calorie containing drinks for crystal light or just plain water. Make a bowl of oatmeal w/ some whey and berries instead of the fruity pebbles.

I was in the middle of trying to type a somewhat long and attempt at inspirational post to try and help get you out of this funk/depression/period of hardship you are in, when the page refreshed and I saw your second post.

Now I’m thinking, if you are getting 8+ hours of sleep a day, eating crap, not working out, then complaining about not having enough money to pay for college you are probably being somewhat lazy.

Admitting bad dietary habits, the easiest to get rid of, talking about staying up all night at a casino, then saying you can barely pay for college.

I may be wrong however and I mean no offense.

How many hours a week are you working? Can you find a second job or work more hours? Can you get a loan for school, not that I recommend it, but if you have no other option I would consider it.

If that is what is causing you stress, I think you should be focusing on figuring out ways to make more money or cut down on some of the money you are spending. Make a budget, ask for some monetary assistance from family, just do something.

You might have to cut down on some sleep and work a little harder, not that it is an optimal environment for building muscle or losing fat, but life takes the priority of any of this stuff.

I am working out, I work at home as well, on the computer… and maybe 30 hours but I work them straight through (very little breaks due to time constraints) Sometimes I will put 18 hours of work into a day and then sleep 12, its bad. I work out 3 to 4 days a week on a regular split, with primary lifts.

I don’t spend a ton of money, I just have gas and college payments right now. Are fruity pebbles really THAT BAD? I mean, I compared them side by side with other shit cereals that are passable for breakfast (special k, grapenuts etc.) and really, most cereals are very similar in nutrition.

I also don’t have any whey right now, I mean, I do, but its strawberry and I’m NOT FUCKING DRINKING THAT STANK EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE. I’ll eat a chicken breast instead, thanks. When I get some more money I’ll get back to the good stuff.

Really though, the past few weeks have just been hard hitting, I’ve had terrible headaches and I’ve just been pissy a lot. It isn’t PMS, I checked, I have balls.

Go outside.

That always cheers me up.

I’m 22, by the way. And I accept nothing less than compliance and eating clean foods. I’m okay with you eating your sunchips, but how much better would your results have been without them?

Also, if you don’t want me to make fun of your eating habits, why post about them in a post about, “how bad you feel” and than you “can’t be happy.”

Have fun! and good luck!

What the fuck are fruity pebbles?

Anyways, my advice though limited would be to try and get some more structure into your life. You talk about just sleeping and sleeping, well use your alarm and try and get up at a semi-regular time every day. I know work/study commitments wont let you do this all the time but still give it a try.

This probably wont stop you feeling down but it might help a bit. Also you’ve gotta realise, money problems will probably be with you for a while so do your work, make your payments and get used to being poor. It takes a lot of the stress away

Also with 200+ post you gotta know that comments about poor diet choices will get ripped on.

Whenever I wake up with a headache I’m usually dehydrated. I go drink a big glass of water and it usually helps a lot.

I’d see a doc mate.

I went in with similar things, went from sleeping 5hr/night to 12-14 hrs, putting on weight, lots of stress.

I thougth it might be hormonal but the doc gave me a couple of other tests after they came back negative and i came back with severe depression and anxiety.

I’d get it checked out, believe me you don’t want to let it go and tough it out. I did for three years and it’s knocked me down so hard this time it ain’t funny.

I was the guy that said “I’m doing x” and I fucking did it, people knew me for that. Now I go to bed just wanting to be able to get up and do weights in the morning.

Thank you. Sleep is a symptom of depression. The body simply shuts down.
See a doctor and substitute Count Chocula for Fruity Pebbles.

Yah man I can see the anxiety, definitely not the depression… I used to be depressed severely, so I do know what THAT is like.

Oh and as a result of my eating fruity pebbles for breakfast I’ve added 2 miles running at least twice a week, plus my lifting. That should help eh? I also am starting Jiu Jitsu soon.

You really need to get a better breakfast. Fruity pebbles aren’t going to kill you - but if you switched a pebble meal and a healthy meal I bet you’ll feel much better.

Morning workouts will actually work. You’ll start to sleep better and wake up naturally because you’re hungry - which means less stress.

i suggest that you go and speak to some one professional about your obsession with fruity pebbles, do you dream about them at night.

my god i have never seen one of these forums where people missed the point so much before and picked at what is probably the only thing in a mans day that makes him happy.

i honestly do think you need to speak to someone, im tipping whether you realise it or not you are suffering from at least a mild case of depression.

get some help with the stress learn ways o cope and see a doctor about your headaches they could be a sign of some very serious problems.

of course fruity pebbles are a shit breakfast but if your doing everything else right who cares, better than having no breakfast or even worse hating the breakfast your having so much you go on a rampage killing everyone who ever badmouthed your cereal of choice.

“i’m eating like shit”

“i’m stressed”

“my sleep is shit”

“what’s wrong with me”

err

Hmm haven’t changed my diet or anything and its all gone now, on top of that I’m looking better than ever

Thanks anyways guys
