VO2 Max Or Aerobic Capacity?

I’m trying to track down this little bit of information in some article that has appeared within, like, the last year. Something about how long-distance, low intensity only improves VO2 max through one mechanism, and sprints improve it via another mechanism. Of course, a lot of endurance athletes rarely sprint so their VO2 max isn’t what it could be, and no amount of long-distance running will help.
Anybody remember reading something like this? I couldn’t find it through the Search.

Thanks.

Nate,

I don't think this has been posted on t-nation, but you might find these articles interesting, if you haven't read them already:

It sounds like JB?s Mad Max program on his site.

Great site, thanks for posting it.

Thanks a lot guys. Ross Hunt, that’s a cool link, and I’ll be reading more of it. Boss, I think that’s what I was looking for.
