How important is it for powerlifting? Do you guys have any routines that you go through every night or before a big lift? Has anyone found that it has vastly improved their lifting?

It seems like different things work for different people. Some guys like to get all jacked up by listening to hardcore music, having people slap them and making a big scene. Other guys like to quietly prepare themselves and just get it done.

Confidence is key on the platform though.

Usually when im squatting ill take 10 or 15 sips of whatever im drinking, whyll pacing back and forth. I usually just stare at the ground, and when the music starts I go buck wild.

for heavy deads i usually get a bit more pumped up in a ‘public’ way…but that’s just deads. with squats and bench i have to be a bit more calm.
