Vinny's Strongman Log II

Deload, then let’s have a timed stone over bar challenge

Recently it seemed to make a comeback. If I am not mistaken Europe’s Strongest Man, World’s Strongest Man and Summermania (or however it was called) all featured tire flips.

Sounds okay with me I guess. Haven’t touched a stone in a while though.

I train alone, but I want to compete against much larger and stronger people as often as possible. Hopefully it’ll make competition day that much better.

For sure. I train alone as well, of course. I only have three stones btw.

180, 250, 320. Your pick

Since I only have up to 215, this will have to do

There’s pretty much no limit to how many times I can load a 180lb stone over a bar :frowning: My forearms being ripped to shreds would stop me long before muscle failure.

Any other ideas?

90 second cap for the 180?

Farmers walk/sandbag medley?

Trap bar deadlift/trap bar carry/trap bar deadlift?

3-5 minute supertotal? (Snatch, clean and jerk, squat, bench, deadlift)

Carries with sledge swings between intervals of distance, some sort of AMRAP with a time cap?

Honestly I’d like to avoid stone burns if I can.

I kinda like farmers/sandbag. Or yoke/farmers since I have that for nationals. Maybe @T3hPwnisher can join or something. He’s probably got me beat on muscular endurance…shit you too even :frowning:

I have to remake my sandbag, since my Ironmind one finally ruptured.

If we want to make it super stupid, it could be continentals until failure. Highest reps win.

oh god

I’d need the bar weight to be 185 or lower to do a number that would cause misery rather than showcasing my pathetic triceps.

No no; not continental and press. JUST continental.

That sounds really dumb. I like it

oh god x2

Congratulations on the Pr, dude! Closing in on 700?
Also kind of a unique way of rehabbing your back. Have to remember that one

Thanks. Definitely a little more of a push before I can close the gap on 700. I think if I triple 650 I’ll have 700 easy.

Atm, my back is in a perpetual state of fuckery. I think it starts from too much heavy beltless front squats then deadlifting right after. Ah well!

Hey man, on your good mornings, do you prefer them light weight or ramp up on them? I used to ramp weight, but I tried just doing deadstop ones with a lighter weight higher rep approach and it seems better in terms of carryover imo. Was curious what your thoughts on them was since I hadn’t done them in a minute before recently.
